Homestyle Cookin' | Sweet & Sour Pork Chops/Chicken

I titled this Sweet & Sour Pork Chops/Chicken because it is a pork chop recipe, but we also use chicken! We prefer the chicken -- much more tender and juicy.

This recipe came from my dear friend Kim, and it is D E L I C I O U S!!
It originally came from www.countrydoor.com

Sweet/Sour Pork Chops/Chicken

3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/3 c. vinegar
3/4 c. water
1 small onion, chopped
1 small green pepper (optional)
5-6 pork chops
Boneless/skinless chicken breast halves

Combine flour, brown sugar and salt. Coat pork chops in mixture. Arrange pork in 8" x 12" baking dish. Sprinkle remaining flour mixture over chops. Combine soy sauce, vinegar and water; pour over chops. Top with chopped onion and sliced green pepper, if desired. Bake at 350° F for 60-75 min. (or microwave covered for 1/2 hour).

The above photo is from the countrydoor.com website, seeing as these things don't stick around long enough for me to take a picture!!

I don't use bone-in pork chops, but you can if you'd like! We normally just get thick cut chops from the butcher and then regular chicken breast halves (boneless/skinless)

Cook up some whole grain rice (because it tastes so much better than white rice, and is healthier!) and top it with your chops (or chicken) and sauce. You've got yourself a quick and amazing meal!

So simple. So easy. And SO yummy.
You're welcome.
